Correct! Both Sydnie7 and Mipi are quite right - that's just how the pleating is.
As I understand things, and I don't have such a kilt (yet), the pleats face forward on either side of the body in Kingussie pleating, with an obvious single box pleat at the centre back.
Take care,
Ham.

Thank you for confirming the construction. That is a very nice kilt and has put "khaki twill" onto my shopping list for future X-Kilt. I'm going to try modifying the X-Kilt instructions to create a reverse K -- sewing it is no issue, my challenge is getting the math right!

More helpful than you know. It helped me figure out how to modify the XKilt for reverse kingussie pleating.

I have now had the opportunity to wash my AlphaKilt for the first time, and felt I should add a few words to my review.
Whilst the washing instructions state "Cold wash", my washing machine does not have such a setting and so I risked giving it a 30ºC programme. Upon completion, I switched to a short spin then removed the kilt from the machine to hang-dry in the open air in the garden, where it was cool and cloudy.
When I say that it had dried thoroughly within an hour, without a single crease and absolutely ready for wear, I am not exaggerating. I was very impressed because most of the other poly-cotton kilts in The Kollection have needed at least a quick going over with an iron immediately after similar treatment.
Thank you again, Daron.
Take care,
Ham.
