Actually the 15th would be perfect. I'm shooting in Louisville the 15th and 16th and was going to suggest anyone who wanted to meet up for a late dinner (don't know my schedule yet, but suspect about 8:30-9 is when I'll be free). 16th is out as I'll be driving to Indy for two days of shooting there as well.

So anyone want to meet? Rudyard Kippling is closed on monday, so I'm up for anywhere else.

I don't really know where you have moved from, or to, but good luck with the new job.

I was born a West Virginia hillbilly of old Virginia/West Virginia stock traceable back to the founding fathers of Virginia in the early 1700's, so I come by my accent (comes out when I drink or return to the south) naturally. All my kinfolk are scattered up and down the Blue Ridge and western Shenandoah Valley except for my brothers who still live up in Ohio where we were raised. Having been the prodigal son working around the country for the last 20 years I can say it is nice to be back in the area--can't quite call it being home but close enough for me.

Soon as we find the box with my kilts in it we should set up a kilt night. Might try to make this Irish fest thing this weekend if I can find more info about it before then.

Why do I need an excuse to wear a kilt? Technically I don't, but my wife is not fond of me wearing them (outside of a highland games or other celtic event) and claims it drives her sexual interest in me in the wrong direction. I am still working on it, though.

Move, where from and where to? From the hot desert of Phoenix, Arizona, to the lush green hils of Louisville, Kentucky.

Job. Great so far, although I am still just settling in. I have a lot of work to do but luckily lots of support from those around me and time to get things done the right way for a change.

Kilt night on the 15th. Count me in. The wife and wee one will either have to come along or suffer my absence for a few hours. I know very little about the town so someone with more knowledge will have to set the time and place.

Irish Fest. Thanks for the link. I will probably be there sometime this weekend as it sounds fun, and as per above, gives me an excuse for wearing a kilt. Will keep my eye out for others there.

Well, my wife wants to go to the Irish Fest so, we'll probably be there. If you're there, just look for the goof ball in the MacNeil of Barra kilt  (the tartan on my avatar). Or, just holler "Jimmy" .

Another welcome from the Louisville area! I live in St Matthews, and work out of two offices--one in the Phoenix Hill area, and the other in the middle of New Albany IN.

By coincidence, I also hail from the Shenandoah Valley area--with a lot of family just across the hills in Rappahannock County (Sperryville/Woodville area).

In addition to Adam (arrogcow's) suggestion, there is a Celtic Festival the last weekend of September. The Mickey Finns will be there--they are a great band to hear.

Hospitaller has tried for a kilted lunch. Sadly, I was unable to coordinate with him that time. Hopefully he'll join in the discussion and we can have some sort of fun.

We'll have to work on that wife of yours. My girlfriend far prefers kilts to trousers. I'm also fortunate, in that my workplace allows my contemporary kilts without problems--unless I NEED to wear pants (for example, crawling around in an attic or foundation crawlspace, or riding my bicycle), I am just about always wearing a modern kilt of some sort.
    Lovin' the breeze 'tween m'knees!
