Good for you. I'm not full-timing it yet, but agree 100% if you look and act confident, people will admire and respect you no matter what you wear. The kilt just adds an excuse for them to talk to you. Has anyone been out and about when everyone ignored your kilt? Don't think that will happen any time soon. Kilt on!!

Excellant! I agree that confidence is the key. I hardly ever get negative comments, lots of positives (mostly female). I guess some of my outfits don't look too Nancy either (black UK workmans, black combat boots, and Triumph Motorcycles garage shirt is a well loved look....). wear it with pride!

I wish I could get away with wearing kilts full time, but in the area i live (bible belt country) i would risk a beating if i did. I wish I still lived In Toronto nobody batts an eye there, although my parents don't understand it.

Very cool. Just to echo what's been said, confidence makes all the difference.

I'm not a full timer, and in fact am out and about less than I used to be when I had a dog. Perhaps it was the dog(rottie mix), but I wore my "sport watch" dog walking for years without any comment around my very diverse neighborhood.

A week of good kilted vibes
I spend a week in Mississauga Ontario while by wife was in the hospital down there. She's ok now. A couple of the days I ventured out in my kilt to the mall and then the hospital. The reactions were great. I met a lady in the mall who wanted to know if she missed an event in the mall that morning. I guess if you wear a kilt you should have bagpipes. At lunch time I overheard a group of high school girls in uniform say that I was dressed like them. Granted my kilt wasn't as short as their skirts. Over all there were good comments about dressed in a kilt.
During the visits at the hospital I saw plenty of smiles from the nurses and female visitors. The best was two nurses who came up behind me and one said "would you be offended if I said you have great legs". Later that afternoon while walking with my wife a woman comment that she loves a man in a kilt. I'm fortunate that my wife doesn't mind me wearing a kilt. In fact she encourage me to purchase an R-kilt during the Kincardine Scottish Festival.
Besides being comfortable the kilt is a real ego booster.
