Well, the thing about having a date that was not my wife is this:
the bride wanted to invite quite a few people from work but not go completly broke. So she invited the girls from work and they each choose a guy from work to go with as a date. Not the traditional way but it worked out fine.

Kilted wedding
All the best. Haven't been to Baltimore in years but found the bridge to Maryland pretty intimidating- very high, open grating in the road bed and windy.

Yeah depending on where you are comming from, the roads can be intimadating, especally(sp?) the beltway! But that's just if you are not used to it.
