Yeah, I looked up my name in the tartan registry and it's fron a sept of Clan Buchanan. Just hope it isn't too bright in the flesh.

Hi, Moski,
There are many versions of Buchanan, and even the same colorway may vary depending on the mill, weight, fabric composition, etc...I think the tartan is readily available from an inexpensive acrylic through poly-viscose up through the heaviest of wools. And, because of the colors, the way it is pleated can also affect the appearance mightily.
This forum is a great resource...lots of photos of various Buchanan kilts here...and when it comes time to purchase you can often request a sample swatch to check the fabric before ordering the kilt.
