I wasn't sure about that. I guess I need to explore his site better to find out what is available as what. I am of mindset that if I don't see something, it's probably out of stock.

Sathor, I'd go with the green hose--more Xmasy if you like the Xmas color theme. But since I don't dress for Xmas as a rule (except for the bowtie with flashing lights, but that's another story), I probably would go with the navy hose like Panashe's.
As to flashes, you can buy grosgrain ribbon and some elastic at the local sewing store. Tack on some velcro and--voila--instant garters. And, I agree that they should be at 10 and 2, but Panache always looks smashing no matter what.

P.S. The turlte neck Panache is wearing looks really good, too. I really like sweaters for casual wear with a kilt, but if you wear an oxford shirt with no tie or jacket, I'd opt for the button down. (It's a personal prejudice; don't like straight colars around without a tie.)
The best overall advice is to check out Panache and do what he does. They don't call him that for nuthin'.

Like Panache, I recommend a good pair of kilt hose instead of soccer socks. A button down shirt with a sweater vest would look very nice.

I really think for a nice but not formal looking outfit for a Christmas Holiday you really ought to invest in a decent pair of hose. I would suggest navy blue.
It just so happens that today I am enjoying a rainy Saturday wearing my Royal Stewart kilt from Stillwater. I asked my lovely Flame-Haired Celtic Amazon Goddess if she thought what I was wearing would be appropriate for a family Christmas? She thought so and took a picture to show you.
Hmmm... I better fix that pleat!
I think that turtleneck shirts go wonderfully with kilts and are perfect for a holiday look.
Hope this was of help

I like the fencing jacket. Interesting combination.
Like you, I'll be wearing my kilt to family gathering for Christmas this year. I think I'll go the turtleneck route as demonstrated. Looks cozy and comfortable.

I went with it because it is rather similar to a chef jacket. The main differences are lack of a pocket and what is below the kilt.

In addition, any "bumfreezer" jacket, that is a jacket that only comes to the waist looks great with a kilt. The important thing is to look neat!

I think you would do well with a kilt and sweater combination here I am with a Arran Sweater and my MacDonald of Sleat, I agree with Panache that for a Christmas outfit I'd go for kilt hose, you can get Hawick hose from the Scottish Tartan Museum and Pete at Canadian Casual Kilts has the Hawick Argyll top hose I am wearing in the picture.

Also, you should consider a fur sporran because fur sporrans are considered dressier and for more special occasions.
Aside from that advice, I noticed your sporran and was wondering: are those sporran hangers that attach to the belt directly?
