I had been thinking along the lines of: if an eight yard, sixteen ounce woolen is a tank, that will make my thirteen ouncer(in progress, maybe) an AFV.

I prefer this term, actually. Calling a 5 yard kilt made from worsted wool possibly using traditional methods (I have seen 5 yard kilts sold as being hand sewn, machine sewn, and a combination of machine and hand) "casual" is almost a disservice to the kilt (IMO). "Hillwalker" I think emphasizes the lighter, sportier capabilities of garment. I have quite literally walked over hills kilted in a 5 yard kilt. On a personal note, having worn 8 yard kilts, I prefer 5 yard kilts. 5 yards of 16 oz fabric is a perfect weight. Having said that, calling an 8-yarder a "tank" suits the garment perfectly.

Course since it is football season and it's a five yarder what about "The Fullback" a four yarder could be "the Halfback", and a really light casual (sport) could be "the Tailback"
The really light "Tailback" quickly becomes "ICanSeeYourBack" in the wind....
