A warm Celtic from Boston, Massachusetts. There is a thread on here on how to post pictures of the digital variety. It is basically upload to photobucket than use the bottom "IMG" to copy and paste into your post. It took me a few trial runs before I got the hang of it.

Hmm, why not "adopt" the Robertson? The clan descends from King Malcolm III (of Shakespearean fame), who was married to St. Margaret of Scotland - a Hungarian.
Plenty of red and green in the tartan, as well, to coordinate nicely w/ the modern tricolor flag....

Interesting suggestion! I had always felt a connection with her due to her birthplace, as well as other reasons.
Actually (I wish I knew how to make a link to another thread), last year I wrote up a brief biography of St. Margaret on here. While she was born in Hungary, she was a member of the British royal family (granddaughter of King Edmund "Ironside" and niece of Edward the Confessor), and in line for the throne of England.

I like the idea. The colors of the Hungarian flag would look good. When I had my kilt tailored the woman working in the shop was sure I was related to Macbeth. I don't think there is a connection with my Hungarian peasant grandparents and Scottish royality but she was pleased to think so.
My wife isn't too keen on my wearing the kilt but hey, who wears the kilt in this family.

Thank you for the welcome. I was inspired to join by someone named McFarkus. My family name is Farkas without the "Mc". One letter and an small omission. What the heck. Jump in.

It would seem that Bartolf was a Hungarian in the retinue of Margaret's family. The Leslies returned to Central Europe in the 1600's, where they served the Hapsburg monarchy.
The Leslie ancient green is a nice-looking tartan.
Funny how these threads lead to Googling about the Internet, innit?
