    Jay,

Smoked salmon is something the F-H.C.A.G. love with a passion.

There is a wonderful episode of Alton Brown's Good Eats series (Food Network) called "Where there's smoke, there's fish" which does a great job of explaining how to smoke a fish.

My smoker is an electric Brinkman and makes the job even easier.

    Cheers

The pipe was an old one of my Dad's I don't know the make.

I am an infrequent pipe smoker at best (a handful of times a year at best). My tobacco is a shop blend called "America Whiskey" which I purchased for its lovely aroma.

    Cheers

I think I saw that one. Is that the episode where Alton smoked the fish in a smoker he made from a cardboard box outside of a motel room?

Forget the kilt and the pipe... just let me at the salmon!

That aside, Jamie, you look very gentlemanly indeed.

I'm not Jewish, but I feel in love with lox years ago. Look forward to it every new years.

Electric smoker? Where's the fun in that? Half a bag of charcoal, 3 gallons of lighter fluid and a match - keeps the neighbors on their toes
