I have a Verizon Wireless Motorola phone with one built in, and it's amazingly accurate. It's actually one of the cheaper phones, not some snazzy gizmo that costs a lot. It will upbraid me if I pull over for a Coke and try to get me back on track.
I don't have to pay for another gadget, and I carry it with me no mater whose car I'm in. I heartily recommend it.

Guess I could get off my lazy bottom and go find a dealer around here and ask. Thanks for the tips on the manufacturers.

You might be suprised...... I have a Garmin StreetPilot and going up Black Mesa above Espanola it showed a goat trail that turned into a rabit run that turned into a mouse track before it got lost

I have it from a good source that Tom, Tom is far better than Garmen.

Being both nearsighted and a cheap bast**d, I didn't like the size of the screen sand the cost. So I went on the Garmin site, I own two trail models and found that they make a model to work with your laptop. you throw the antenna on the roof via big magnet and turn on your laptop. It cost just over 100 when I bought it, and the misses and me love it. I can see where I am going and I have the same downloads the street gps has.

I'm not a big fan of Tom Tom. I've used a few Garmin units, and use the Garmin software on my phone. I really like the garmin software, personally.

I have 2, my first was a Garmin model 320C. It is just a basic model and you have to load software from a disc.. The last time I used it, it was off by about a block. IO bought a Magellan(can't remember the model). It is an older refurbished model and that has worked well for me since I got it. One thing, at least with the Magellan, you have to subscribe to the traffic and detour update service. Here in Virginia, it was only available in the Tidewater area. So, if you want that feature, check and see if the area in which you drive the most has the feature available.

I'm with thescot. I also use Verizon Navigator on my LG cell phone. It's data is constantly updated, goes with me where ever I go, even when I'm on foot in the city, and gives current traffic and detour updates. It costs me $10 per month. For my needs it's great and don't feel a need for something more sophisticated.
