1MUNK3, I agree with most of those, however some I would put in the same genre as Flogging Molly and Real McKenzies. The Exploited, Sedition, are definitely an Oi punk band, and don't play folk rock at all. Oi Polloi is interesting in that they sing in Gaelic, but their music isn't especially Celtic sounding, and they have some lyrics which I don't really care for. The Dubliners and the Clancy Brothers are exclusively folk bands (except for when The Dubliners perform with The Pogues). The Levellers are more Celtic rock than Celtic punk, and Runrig is like stadium rock, although I do like their version of Loch Lomond with the Tartan Army).

Some others I'd like to suggest though:
    Charm City Saints
    Neck
    Siobhan
    Sled
    The Prodigals
    Orthodox Celts
    Fiddler's Green

Really? They came here? And they play at Epcot?!?! This is one weird world... maybe SciFi is right and we really are all Cylons...

    Hello Beloitpiper,
I know, but I was just trying to give him a bit of a mix that's all . The key is "This is some of the stuff I listen to ranging from gealic punk to a wee bit folkier" and "You may not like all of them but check em out and see what you like" and "Enjoy what you like, forget about what you don't" So there :butt: Now keep in mind Beloitpiper this is all good fun so don't get all sassy on me . I know some people take their music very seriously so I'm not trying to offend anyone. Besides this is a message board about kilts. I don't like everything some of these bands I mentioned put out, but others might (I must say though that everything the Real McKenzies have put out since the beginning I have liked). I also know the Exploited , Sedition (yes their first ep had some very traditional celtic music in between in your face punk rock), Oi Polloi ( like you I don't agree with all lyrical content and stances on certain issues. They are friends of mine though that when stateside would stay with me while on tour along with Wattie from the Exploited among many others Varukers, Chaos U.K., Disorder, Concrete Sox, Doom, Discharge, etc... And many of them outside of punk music actually play some really great traditional Celtic music and would be able to have recordings of such with the best of them.) I must also add that Spinal Tap kicks a** ! A couple others bands that just came to mind are Enter the Haggis (they always seem to be playing at a lot of the highland games I attend and they are a great group of guys that play some great music. They also utilize the great Highland bagpipe which is always a plus in my book. Also The Fenians. Well their are many great bands out there to enjoy, one size so they say certainly does not fit all, but if you give something a try that you've never experienced prior, you just might find something you enjoy. Who cares if your neighbor doesn't. Oh, also The Swinging Utters are another great band. Well got to go the lads are a calling. And before I sign off, PLEASE Beloitpiper, do not take any offense to anything I wrote that is/was not my intention at all. I know the written word sometime is difficult to read if ya catch my drift, hence why I wrote all in good fun. That's what music is about after all is it not ? So cheers everyone and be well.

Oh, not at all! I wasn't mad or angry, I was just pointing out that some of the bands that you listed may not be exactly what people searching for Celtic Punk or Rock will be what they're looking for. I'm all for spreading the Good Word of Music!

Have you listened to Wolfstone? They sound a lot like The Tannhill Weavers, but have some more "edgy" or "hard" songs too.
