Nice Fergusen-Britt sporran!
I know a Wilson. Must say, the "muted" is better than other options.
Be well,

Martin- I wanted HoE also, but Rocky's source had another mill which I can't remember. Rocky called the guy to check the colors. And, the colors were identical to HoE so I ordered it. I like them both. The Lochcarron Wilson in ancient is a Matt Newsome box pleat. Here is a photo of it when I was in River John, Nova Scotia. We were visiting my aunt & uncle, looking for my great-great grandfathers grave.

Yes, the colors are completely different. The Wilson in modern, which I've only seen on line is not my cup of tea as my mom would say!

Wonderful colours and quite different from my own Wilson, which has a rather flashy orange where you have burgundy.
At the time, I wanted something colourful, but today, if I had seen the HoE, I think would surely choose that.

Actually, this material was from N Batley, not HOE. Nothing AGAINST HOE, that just wasn't the material in the 'clearance sale'.

I just called the supplier to check if there's more Wilson Muted available... unfortunately, they're all out. I can still GET more, it will just be the 'regular cost' of $360 or so for a 5 yarder.

Thanks for checking Rocky. It'll be quite sometime before I can invest that much in a kilt again. I will definately keep this in mind, though.
Scot01always, thanks for posting the pics of the ancient Wilson. I've never actually seen it "in person", but always just scans of swatches, and as we all know, they aren't the best. I do like the colours of the ancient as well.

The colours certainly vary a lot.
Here is a picture of my ancient Wilson from Lochcarron, different again from the one you have just shown.

There are others on the Flickr site, but this one shows the colours best.
It is not a USAkilt, so perhaps I should not be showing it here ...?
