Dude, I am a huge Albannach fan! I would love to have one of those! I just ordered a Colorado tartan kilt, though. I wish I had seen this first. Ah well. Maybe I'll get one next time I have kilt money.

Ok, please remind me again..If I were to make an 8 yard kilt, I would need just roughly 4 yards of this material because it's double width, correct? I'm seriously thinking about this.

Not as a 'pressure tactic', but as a simple 'heads up', once this fabric is gone, it's gone. I had 64 yards total woven for the band. They'll use about 30 yards for their own great kilts. The rest is for general consumption to help them recover the cost of their great kilts, but they don't have any plans to do another run.

As Chase said... yes, that's correct. One thing to note is that the TOTAL width of this cloth is 54", so the longest kilt that can be made is about 25", with the 4" in the middle used for the waistband.

judging from the response on the albannach message board, the cloth is moving. if there are any hardcore fans for whom a few yards or a kilt in this tartan is a must have, you better make the call...

And then there's the fact that they are great people. My son spent his allowance on their live CD when they were here, and he met Jamesey and told him that the CD was the most important thing for him to buy at the festival. Jamesey dragged Ravan around something like ten minutes and made absolutely certain that he got it signed by every member of the band. They totally made my boy feel like their new best friend.

What an awesome tartan. I'm pondering now...

Rocky's phone will be ringing today.
My first true great kilt, and 5 yards of the tartan of a great group of people. And in plenty of time for their Sept 19, 2009 concert. They are absolutely awesome in person. The CDs do not capture but a fraction of the energy of their performance.
At last years New Hampshire Highland Games, they were performing inside the main tent, and the residents of Lincoln, New Hampshire were enjoying the concert 14 miles away. No amplifiers, no electronic gadgets, just pure Albannach energy.

I COMPLETELY agree. We sell their CDs AND DVDs in the store. If people are torn which to buy, I ALWAYS recomend the DVD. It captures their energy much better.
