I have one of each and I'd guess that the "16oz" FC is very, very similar in weight and feel to the SWK standard.

That's the thing.
I can verify that SWK are astonishingly swift at delivering what you have ordered, not just compared with other kilt vendors, but compared with companies of any kind, and they have an extremely good reputation. OTOH, FC have had quite a few complaints here and there, although I received a follow-up e-mail about my order very quickly, which is to their credit, but until I receive the kilt I can't say anything definitive. They also do take longer to deliver, and make no secret of that.
Nevertheless, SWK has a very, very limited range, and FC offer far more choices. If you want something that FC has and SWK doesn't, then it would seem foolish to order something different instead. YMMV.
Neither is a kilt maker, and both import inexpensive kilts from Pakistan, but direct comparison is far from simple, as both offer more than one price range of kilt.

Jerry V. at Stillwater follows a business model of only offering what he can deliver. The disadvantage is that his options are smaller and you can only buy what he can ship out right now.
But he is very good about letting people know when something is back in stock.
I have bought something like 11 kilts from him (not to mention a number of sporrans and other kit) and have always been a very satisfied customer. I recommend Stillwater to anyone without any reservations.
Cheers

The SWK standard is acrylic. It is lighter than the SWK heavyweight, but I don't have a FC kilt to compare it to.

FC vs SWK
I have four of these kilts, one SWK black economy, a Wallace SWK thrifty, a Mackenzie FC I paid about 35$ for on sale a year or more ago, and a custom 16oz Clarke FC. The only one I wear a lot is the Mackkenzie FC, except in the colder times or at a public-invited jam fest, when I wear the Clarke FC. Both SWK's make me look fatter than if I wear the FC's . (I am 5'8", 175 lbs).
I have received several compliments from tourists from Scotland for my Mackenzie FC.
It would be unfair of me to compare any of these to my new Burnett's and Struth wool casual in my clan Ancient MacHardy. This one is a truly fine kilt.

Yes, they feels slightly heaver to me. That's not an actual weight measurement, but rather a feeling. I have three SWK Standards and two FS Heavyweights.

b v ,
Search our forums and compare how many people have had problems with the Frugal Corner and how many have had problems with Stillwater Kilts.
You will find that The Frugal Corner doesn't compare very favorably to Stillwater Kilts.
There are people who have had good experiences with the FC, but there have been a number of others who have been very disappointed.
Jerry V. at Stillwater has`set the gold standard here at XMTS for customer service and speed of delivery. There are very few people that have ever posted here about any problems with his product or service.
Your best course is to Search the threads, read, and make your choice.
