That one was used by a friend near the end at our Burns Night Supper for our SCD class (it received the customary groans).
I provide this follow up and sang
"I know a man named Mr. Lang
and he has a neon sign.
Now Mr. Lang is very old
so they call it "old Lang's sign"
I grabbed The F-H.C.A.G. and ran out the door before I got lynched!
Cheers

A young Scot signed up on a merchant ship as a mess steward. One day, the cook and the young man stepped outside the galley to the rail for a smoko. The cook slipped, and tumbled overboard.
The young man, frightened half-out of his wits, ran to the bridge to tell the captain, but found he couldn't speak. After several minutes of stammering, the captain told him to "just sing it!"
Should auld acquaintence be forget,
and never brought tae mind?
The bloomin' cooks fell overboard,
and he's fifty miles behind.

Rumor in the streets is that I will be appropriating that joke for our Burns Tea this Sunday. That's really funny.
Why, a child of five could understand this. Quick -- someone fetch me a child of five!
