My tweed jacket is in a similar plain style, mainly because it was made about 50 years ago. That was probably the "bespoke" style at the time and is still what the Saville Row tailors produce for Prince Charles.

This why I designed my Kilt Kut Sport Coat.
A regular 3 button jacket cuff. Nothing fancy.
No epauletes.
2 outside lower Pockets with regular jacket cuff.
1 outside chest pocket.
1 inside pocket.
Available with or without 5 button vest.
Made for me in the UK.
Fully Made to Measure.

I wear the kilt because: Swish + Swagger = Swoon.

Like I posted before, I prefer wearing the plain style jacket, like a regular suit jacket cut to fit a kilt length. I do get caught up in the discussion about the dress Argyles etc, though.
Could someone describe the scalloped pocket flaps that are in the pictures?
Thanks.

A very sensible and unpretentious look. I especially like the three button front. I've never liked a single button on the cuffs or the front of the jacket that you see with some lesser quality kilt-jackets.

I don't know. All my suit jackets have two button closures, but the black one has four sleeve buttons and the rest have three sleeve buttons.

Exelent point! How many buttons should a good quality kilt jacket, as opposed to a low quality jacket, have? (Both the closure and the sleeves.)

I was always given to understand, from a very early age that the number of buttons on the cuff and the jacket should match on a suit - 1+1, 2+2 or 3+3. Obviously on an Argyle style jacket this formula will not work, so maybe there isn't a correct number for Scottish jackets.

I don't think there is a "correct number" for other jackets, either. All of my bespoke suits have four buttons on the cuffs, and either three or two buttons on the front.
