I have an 8 yard 16 oz and a 5 yard 16 oz from Scotweb. I like both, but the 5 yard is so much better for summer. It's much cooler. It's actually very comfortable and the way it's made- shallow but broad pleats- it looks almost like an 8 yarder, and has a good swing. It doesn't have the same feel, and no doubt, but it looks really fine. I would recomend one from Scotweb without hesitation if you live in a warm environment.

Thanks guys, I had always suspected that lower yardage was the key to comfort in a hot climate.

I might also suggest a 16 oz. box pleated kilt from someone like Matt Newsome. The box pleat models use less fabric, but they still give a great look and feel.

    Just another thought.....

I had exchanged a few PM's with Matt about a box pleat kilt, but as everybody here knows, the jones for a Matt Newsome kilt is loooooooong. I may do that one of these days, but right now I want to ramp up the kilt count fairly quickly.

I've got the Edzell semi-trad. coming from Rocky in just a few days, and some of the X Marks tartan on the way to ChattanCat, so I'll have a 5 yd and 8 yd in PV. I've also ordered an Anderson Modern in 13 oz from ChattanCat, so I'll be up to 5 kilts here pretty shortly, and that is where it will have to stay for a while.

I appreciate the comments here from all of you that are more addic... I mean experienced.
