I like the concept, and the pommel dressing! A question: How sturdy is marble for a knife handle? I mean I know very little about it, is it brittle or can it take a few good knocks and drops? Because I'm thinking it could be really awesome to work with.

It's an interesting look. My tastes lean toward functionality. Unless a guard is used, the hand would be exposed to the blade. That being said, I like the contrast between the blade and the handle.

This might kill the "look", but if marble is indeed too brittle, you could put a coat of clear resin on the handle to guard it against damage.
