One of the things I want to do with the web site in the coming months is to make a video of how to tie the garters. The method illustrated on our web site works fine. Lately, though, I've been doing what many others here do and that is to tie a simple overhand knot.
You begin by finding the center of the garter and placing it on the outside of your leg. Wrap the garter around, crossing it on the inside of the leg, and bringing the ends back around to the outside. Tie a simple overhand knot, and then tuck the ends of the knot underneath the garter itself, which will keep the knot in place all day long.
Fold the cuff of the hose over the garter, so that the ends of the knot hang beneath the cuff. Viola! You are done.

Ken;
your method looks very effective, I will give it a try, I think I like it better
than how I have been doing in the past, end result looks better too.

Like Matt, I started with the way shown on the website, but have changed it as well. I start by finding the center of the garter and place it where I want the ends to eventually sit. I then wrap around the leg and tie a half-hitch on the inside of the leg and then complete the wrap on the outside with another half-hitch. I then wrap the garter ends under the two wraps and hang down the leg. This keeps the garters secure for me and I have no slippage during the day.

That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it." anon
