I was always taught to leave things of Nature Alone, If ya don't bother it, it won't bother you.
Swatting and Brake fluid just doesn't go hand and hand with my idea of things. I agree with calling a Bee Keeper if the group is that large. Yep they were probably look'in for a new home. Your neighbor is lucky they didn't swarm all over him and cause some real damage.
I don't believe the idea is to arrive in heaven in a well preserved body! But to slide in side ways,Kilt A' Fly'n! Scream'en "Mon Wha A Ride" Kilted Santas

Well... I guess it is over for now, but the underlying issues are still there.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

With those bees being well-stocked on brake fluid, I'd like to see that swarm stop on a dime.

There's lots of bees out in my citrus trees. I let parts of my back yard go fallo each year, and they like that too; the new neighbor doesn't.
This neighborhood has changed a bunch since I moved in about ten years ago, including the zoning codes that no one can seem to figure out, Jljand this micro farming experiment is having to come to an end... Not sure what to do.

A swarm of bees in May is worth a stook of hay
A swarm of bees in June is worth a silver spoon
I don't think we get swarms as early as April - and it would be a difficult rhyme anyway - but bees were/are regarded as valuable - people were allowed to pursue a swarm with a view to catching it as long as they rang a bell as they went - I wonder if that law has ever been repealed.
I have seen bees about my gooseberry bush flowers for a week or so now, so hope that there will be a good crop later in the year.
Your neighbour sounds like a dangerous fellow to be around - enraging whole swarms of bees can be fatal.

Yes, Pleater, I don't think he is a bad guy, though. Our lives and personal world views are incompatible. Also, he has moved from a ten acher plot of land to a six thousand square foot plot of land. There is a space issue going on.
Anyway, I would like to think that we are like bees here on XMTS; moving from thread flower to thread flower. It's a dandelion thing.
