Looking smart! especially since the jacket cost only $10 + some labor. You could swap out the shoes for ghillie brogues to look a bit more traditional, but I don't think that is quite necessary.

Actually, the shoes he's wearing looks more "traditional" for a Highland gent in the country than a pair of ghillies.
I'm on my way to the Tartan Day festivities in Dallas, and am curious as to what ya'll think of the outfit. The waistcoat was modified by my wife as well as the $10 Goodwill Tweed jacket.

Well, it was a fine time. As far as shoes go, when you wear a size 15, sometimes you take what you can get, although I have located a couple sources lately. The tartan is Old Stewart. Here are a couple pics, one of Medic78 and myself.

Looks great, I like that you chose to wear a proper daywear outfit, with a jacket waistcoat etc. you look very sharp, and your wife did a wonderful job on the outfit. I also like the shoes by the way.
