I haven't seen any negative reviews on WPG's Khaki hose. Mine are great!

I have a pair of WPG's and they are really nice with this one caveat...be careful if you have big feet! I have a size 13 foot, and in no time flat my toes were poking through the end of both hose. I darned the holes and at the next wearing my toes were through again. I've never done this with any other socks in my life, so I don't have odd toes with teeth or anything. The WPG hose are solid wool and tightly knit, so they don't stretch at all. I expect their large size would fit a size 11 foot just fine, but my 13's just were not to be contained.

I'm thinking about hacking off the front half of the foot portion and adding a new one in stretchy acrylic.

I elected instead to try the "British Indian Army Khaki Full Hose" from WPG. These "original khaki wool full hose made for the old Indian Army" came with a tag reading "Made in Pakistan." Between that and the exhorbitant shipping price for one pair of hose and one sporran (over $15), I won't be shopping there again.

Hopefully the UK Khaki Full Hose from WPG are better than what I got from them.

    WPG shortcomings

FWIW - I found that the hose from WPG are pretty huge. I ordered the medium (smallest they had) and they are a good 2 inches longer and larger around than my size 9 foot. LOML is going to do some retro-knitting of the foot so they fit better and add a "bootie" so the sock will not slide around. They fit OK from the ankle to the knee.

The more I work with the hose and Eisenhower jacket I bought from WPG I'm starting to discover flaws in the garments I did not know about when I lauded the pieces earlier on this site. Luckly, LOML has the talent, skill and interest to correct the problems.

The Gaelic Themes piper's kilt hose comes in khaki... Am about to purchase a pair along with a pair of cream from The Tartan Thistle, on Whidbey Island, here in WA.

    Link: http://www.tartanthistle.com/Piper_Hose.html

$32.99, plus shipping. 80% wool, 20% nylon. Likely the same ones that MacHummel sells, just made in Scotland, instead of Canada...

Well, the Pakistani army does contains regiments that were part of the Indian Army before Partition in 1947...

I love my WPG khaki hose, but I have one VERY small caveat. You can't wear them right out of the package. They have the most repugnant odor! But, a quick first wash and its gone.
