Looks proper to me... and an off the rack gift... what's not to love?

Personally, I prefer to wear mine at the bottom of my knee, anyway. In Colorado winters, it's warmer. So yours looks perfect to my eye.

    Possibilities

    1) your legs need to be an inch or so longer
    2) your kilt needs to be an inch or so shorter
    3) the angle of the photograph makes the kilt appear longer than it is
    4) everything is just fine

I prefer the kilt to come to just the top of the knee cap, as I believe that gives the wearer a more elegant look as it makes his legs look longer.

    What he said.

If it were any longer, you'd look like an oldmaid school teacher. But it looks pretty good as is.

Could be a tad shorter, though! I prefer mine just to the top of the knee cap as well.

I use the old "kneel and it, the kilt, should just touch the floor. SDometimes I go a tad shorter. Using that criteria, it looks about right. By the way, why do we worry so much about this? If you are comfortable with it, wear it.

    Looks fine to me.

I'm six foot tall so the OTR standard 24" works for me.
But I do have a few length 23" for summer to wear a half-inch lower at the waist and a half-inch shorter at the knees.

I'm of the school of thought that a kilt should be shorter rather than longer, otherwise it looks too much like a skirt. Some of my kilts are at about the top of my knee, though I prefer them to be about two finger widths above my knee (which also happens to be the same way I measure my preferred serving of Scotch - two finger widths of Scotch in a glass). I don't have a single kilt that touches the ground when I kneel. I find that method of measurement leaves kilts far too long.

If this had been a bespoke kilt, I would say the maker cut it too long. Since it is an off-the-rake kilt, I'd say that it is well-within a tolerable range and actually looks quite good.

    The more kilts the better!

I think that the length is just a touch long. Not enough to justify modifying the kilt, but just a touch long. I like my kilts to sit right at the top of the knee.

The length is borderline proper, but not too long. I have a couple of kilts that fit like this, but they do feel long to me. But, I'm not selling them! I've sen posters here indicate that for long hikes, that length may be a bit long to avoid wool edge burns on the back of your legs.

It's probably within allowable length range, from what i can see. It might be that you are wearing it a bit too low, and the top could be a couple of inches above the navel.

I prefer the top of the knee length, or shorter.

Some wear even shorter kilts for hiking or long walks.
