It makes sense to me. I think it's partly a comfort issue, the more comfortable you are, the happier you are. Partly because those willing to wear a kilt are willing to step fairly far outside of cultural norms.

It also goes with my pet theory that expansionist cultures are driven too it by the discomfort of wearing pants.

I believe that there is most definitely a correlation between kilts and enjoying life.

    I certainly do!

Frankly, I've had a rough week. My students criticized me yesterday for not having worn my kilt all week. (Unfortunately the "other duties as assigned" could have caused serious injury to my kilt, so I was in pants). Today, however, there was no risk to my modesty or my kilt, so I put on my brown workman's Utilikilt, and had the best day I've had all week. The kilt does not only work its magic on others, it works on the wearer as well.

    Cheers

    Well I sure am!!

Mostly because single ladies keep contacting me and wanting to come and visit and get to know the olde fat guy in the kilt. Younger women!! I'm still baffled. Apparently the kilt masks many flaws...who am I not to indulge their attraction?

Probably not a good idea to put notches in my kilt pin though...

Do you think it has something to do with the fact that in order to wear a kilt, you have to stop worrying about how other people are going to react, and do what you want to do?

My opinion is that anyone with that attitude is more likely to be happy, kilted or not.

But kilt wearers have more fun that the rest of the lot, so we're happier.
