We are fortunate in Arizona that all public places, including bars, clubs & restaurants, are smoke free, and within 20 feet of the entrance. They may establish outdoor smoking areas, which many do.
All my casual kilts are machine washable.

The nice thing about my nightclub is that we have a great smoke ventilation system (due to the fact that the owner - also a Scot - can't stand the smell of cigarettes) so the smoke smell isn't so bad. When I'm not wearing it, I keep it hung up in a special locker inside my office.
The club also has an outdoor ampitheatre so the next day, I will usually hang it outside for about an hour and let the wind "freshen" it up.
