Way cool! Maybe you could make a second one out of rugby ball textured material.

I was very tempted too.... but given the size of it and extra complexity I decided to keep it more simple to start with!

Thanks for all the positive comments! Appreciated!

This has the potential to open up a whole new world of sporrans - especially if the "tassels" could be easily changed.

Great idea. I will just have to copy it, but with a silver fern on the flap.

Silver Fern.... and I guess the leather will be 'All Black' ?

I went through several idea's for the tassels. I ended up with the rugby key rings but I saw several nice enamel key fobs. I just cut up a piece of white leather for the top - although given the intricacy of the thistle I cut out the major lines and then markerpenned the fine lines to give the leather some strength. Small squirt of super glue and it was done...

Its drawn some interesting comments - including the woman at the local train station who just wandered up and had a feel of the 'rugby balls' whilst I was stood there minding my own business! I asked her to at least to buy me a drink first! ;)

FYI - the sporran itself was from here: http://macdonald-sporrans.com/leathe...eather-sporran and it even came with a sporran chain (nasty quality!) which I used the chain links from to replace the smaller chains on the key rings.

The rest of the bits were from ebay...

Great idea. You could do other sports, other teams... the possibilities are endless... three soccer ball keychains and a FC Barcelona crest on the lid perhaps???
