Lamont Kilt
Welcome, I'm with Clan Lamont. USA Kilts has it in the different patterns. Ilike the weathered, will be ordering one soon.

I would also like to get in on a Lamont. My last name also falls under Lamont and MacGregor. Problem is funding--wish I had been into this when Jerry had the Weathered Lamont!

Don't forget that the StilWater Weathered Lamont is not the true Lamont Sett; it is half of the sett. So... You know...
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

Why only one? Get one of each, that way you can buy more accessories!

Well, the Lamont is like a Black Watch thread count with a white stripe added, if I understand correctly. The Black Watch pattern has a single black stripe then a double row of black stripes in one sett. On the Stillwater wool heavyweight kilts, there is only a single black stripe on both the Black Watch and the Lamont. That means it was woven with only half the pattern or thread count.
I don't know that it is a big deal, but it is not the true tartan of the Black Watch or the Lamont thread counts; that might make a difference to some people.

Just my tuppence worth here: Just pick the one you like best and go with it. This is one of those things that is totally up to the taste of the wearer, and there is no "best" answer, IMHO.

Thanks all, I emailed Lochcarron for a price on the Lamont Weathered they quoted $113.00 a yard. That is a little pricey for me. I emailed Stillwater Kilts to see if they still had the Lamont Weathered they sad that they do not and can’t get that tartan anymore.

Do check around. Scotweb shows it for about $60/yard double width, plus shipping and applicable duties. Your kilt maker almost certainly can do better than $113! If possible, let them handle the details.
2 yards double-width, roughly, should make a kilt like David's box pleat, shown above; and 4 would make a tank.
