Yup it looks like an ancient Lindsay, and yes they don't look as well in pictures as in person.
Ebay kilt

My Lindsay

What it looks like in the real world

In person this tartan is really rather appealing, I have had many nice comments and complements on it. It has a lot of lavender and purple tones, which not be everyones cup of tea, but I like it.
The one on ebay is much to small for me, beside I already have one, next up is a Modern Lindsay!

After looking at both pics of it, it's a kilt. It's in a bit of disrepair, but it's a kilt.

Usually, I've noticed a true woman's (as opposed to a woman wearing a man's kilt, ala pipers) tartan skirt is a reverse of a man's kilt, much the same way men's and women's jackets/shirts button in reverse. Of course it will also be longer.
The women's kilt will have two buckles on the left hip, one on the right, the apron will close right to left, the pleats are 'backwards'.
Here are a few pics of a woman's skirt, late 50s, early 60s in Macphie

That's what ebay does to hide the identity of other bidders. They don't want you tracking them down if you lose I suppose.

Don't feel bad, Dan. Did you notice that the seller's name is Sarah Connor. Imagine if a big, leather wearing dude in sunglasses were to come up to you and ask, "Iss jour name, Sara Connor?"
Losing might have saved your life!
