I dont mean to offend you Rex. (or anyone else)

What I mean by that is this.

In the queer community, there are two things that everything seems to center around:

    1. Sexuality Sexaulity, Sexual attraction, Relationships, Love, ect

    2. Gender Gender Identity, Gender Expression, Anatomical Gender, ect.

The group I created is for people that are gay and lesbian. (Sexuality) and not oriented towards people in a community that deal with gender issues.

    Does that help?

I understand your reasoning. The language used to express one's thinking is vital to being heard. So is editing what one says. Sometimes - especially in a forum such as this - not everything needs to be expressed.

Here's how I might have said what you said without saying what wasn't really necessary:

No Transgendered? That's a little discriminatory isn't it?
I'm hoping the transgendered community will think of themselves as allies.
Just so you know, I'm aware of at least two members on XMTS who have at least one transgendered parent.

    Hope that helps as well.

    Regards,
    Rex.

For what its worth, sometimes its difficult for supportive allies to be supportive allies because we get all confused about the "proper" terminology...i.e. is it GLBT or LGBT?? or is like Spanish and it depends on who you're talking to at the time...??

Usually not a problem unless someone jumps us for our error and has to explain at length what the current proper term is....well meaning...but dang, it can get disheartening wanting to be supportive but not doing it "right."

But I'll bumble along as best I can - frolic at the Pride Festivals and parades that I can make, post "clues" in my office that "I get it", I'll read every issue of Echo to try to stay current, and always maintain my office as a safe place.

And I'll grit my teeth and bear it when someone needs to tell me how I screwed up.

    I love FREEDOM!!!!

    Ya, Ron, I hear you.

I made the decision a long time ago to not worry about the labels or being in a category with many different groups. I can also see how any two or more sides need each other lest they turn on themselves.

LGBT, GLBT or something like that is fine with me because I hear the "other labels" and discriptions regularly.
