My friend is a pretty durned good piper, and so we spent some time over with the piping competition. He'd piped with a group up in Milwaukee for a bit and had wanted to see them. We missed their competition, but we got a chance to chat with them for a bit.
Looking forward to Retro Red's return!

Who's your piper friend? Do you know which band he is in?

I was wondering where you were! I kept stopping by the Robertson tent to find you.
I home the damage isn't too bad...

Thanks for posting these. My family has roots in Chicago and I'd love to make it up there for the games one of these days!

Hello Brewboy, glad to meet you.
These American Highland games are so cool.
Hope your girlfriend got over the shock of the storms.
Kind wishes.

Sorry we were unable to attend this year, but we were backpacking in the mountains of New Mexico. Thanks for posting the pictures. Hope to see all the Chicago rabble this fall at the Celtic Fest.

In 2008, my nephew and his new bride went to the Chicago games and had a blast. They now live in Edmond, OK. Looks like a great time for all!

Sorry, just saw this thread. Sorry I missed y'all, but we found a nice spot to put our lawn chairs right between the athletic fields, and only left to get beer. Got a nice sunburn that day!
Here's a picture of my wife and I that day:

Carl, sorry we missed you. I spent a bit of time on the sidelines at the rugby field. I managed to avoid a sunburn by slathering on sunscreen every couple of hours.
