It sounds like when when someone tells you that you make their day, it also makes your day -certainly a win-win situation.

I had an odd negative reaction to my kilting yesterday, that made me feel good. I spent the morning cutting up the remains of a (termite-ridden) deck I removed from my back yard -- with such messy work, I was in an old pair of cargo shorts so as to not mess up a kilt. I then had to pop over to the college I teach at to grab a file of my computer there. I walked to the admin. building to check my mail and one of my students stopped me and said "Wow Chris, I almost didn't recognize you without your kilt? Is something wrong?" I assured him that there was no problem.

His statement actually made my day -- I think today will be kilted.
I wish I had something funny or profound to put in a signature.

Interestingly, the only negative comments I recall are from two MALE coworkers who've never actually seen me in the kilt. If there have been others, I don't recall them.

One of the things I love about kilting is the unpredictable reactions one gets from others.
