More important - why buy shorts if you own a bunch of kilts!!

Gotta love how those words take on whole new meanings, a complete reversal so to speak! that one I don't get it's origin!
I would feel, just me, like it would look as though I didn't know how to wear it properly, but then did you mean wearing it as a fanny pack with or without the kilt?
Seems like you would feel you either had a tail, horsehair, or it would be constantly slapping you in the bum!

I assume that they would not like it if you ride the standing coasters at the amusement parks in a kilt. (not exctly the most kilt friendly place I would think, if you ride the rides, though I think I saw pics of Panesh (sp?) at a Disney park)
Also, I think many store would get nervous if you are trying on clothes if you are wearing a kilt on the way in.

I'm the only person (other than the rare occasion my cousin wore his USAK) I've ever seen wearing a kilt in my town. I would venture to bet that the overwhelming majority of the residents here wouldn't have a clue what a sporran is, much less own one. BUT, about a year ago I was in the book store when I caught sight of a guy wearing a semi-formal sporran (this style) with his jeans. I have to say: it looked completely ridiculous. I understand the desire to be "functional." But, I think there are far better ways to do so while in pants.

I have to agree, and nominate Ron's idea as one of the oddest attempts to start a fad yet.

Two cultures separated by a common language...
As for sporran as bum bag - I'll have to give that one a try, it might just work...

My wife has a small summer purse which is plaid and sporran sized. I mentioned to her that it looked like a small sporran. Here it is on our kitchen table and then again worn as a sporran/fannypack. I won't wear this as a sporran, but I tried it on here wearing shorts only of course. But maybe with a modern utility kilt at a fair. Just thought I would chime in on the fannypack debate. Forgive me elders for suggesting a purse, but the strap isn't half bad.

I hope that setting is in the dark and alone. Just a second opinion.. hopefully you don't get too many "looking goods!" to encourge you due to the fact that many board members find it rude to sometimes tell the disparaging truth.

I've considered wearing my Nightstalker nylon with other than a kilt behind, but I've never actually done it.
