Thanks for the kind words, Tom and everybody else. I enjoyed making these hose, and am glad you all like them.
I deliberately made the foot and ankle a bit loose, since that area will shrink with wash and wear. The cables are mirrored, so that if Tom stands with his ankles together, the cables form either a V or an upside down V, depending on which sock is on which foot.
(I admit I was a little leery of the red and yellow combination, but it works well with the modern Hay tartan.)
I'd be willing to make someone else a pair of hose similar to these. PM me for pricing and/or trade arrangements. For what it's worth, Tom and I exchanged no money on this transaction, other than buying materials, and postage from the U.S. to Germany and Germany to the U.S.
Pretty soon I'm going to post a very positive review of the sporran Tom made for me. I'll go ahead and highly recommend his work, and him as a collaborator.
Thanks again for the review, Tom.

Great looking hose! I agree, the traditionalt ie garters would be wonderful with such an item. I'd think either "brick red" to match the hose themselves, or yellow to match the cuff.

Apology to piperdbh for miswriting his name.
My apologies to piperdbh for miswriting his name in the start of this thread.
Guess I was having a senior moment and it was late at night.
Anyway, his work speaks for itself and I'm sure he appreciates the comments of all who have posted here.
