Sure there is a difference. Shooting socks are sold by retailers who carry country clothing and hunting supplies.

Whereas kilt hose are carried by retailers who specilize in Highland Dress.

Ha, Nice one!
No difference, really. In the case of the House of Cheviot, the same sock can sometimes be considered both. Many of their styles are available in x number of colours and are referred to as 'Country Socks', while the same sock/hose available in a different colour range is referred to as 'Kilt Hose.' For customers' ease, I just group them together.

Here's one I've not seen before, though, that I think would look splendid with an Isle of Skye kilt.

It looks as though Wendy Keith does not ship overseas at this time.
I'm not sure about Shootingsocks.co.uk
I have always tempered my killing with respect for the game pursued. I see the animal not only as a target but as a living creature with more freedom than I will ever have. I take that life if I can, with regret as well as joy, and with the sure knowledge that nature's ways of fang and claw or exposure and starvation are a far crueler fate than I bestow. - Fred Bear

I found a couple sites on eBayUK that sell the shooting socks, and a garter that looks like traditional but they are like the flash too.. Elastic garter with four colors.. Green, red, yellow, and blue, all for about $15.00 or so. I like the way the looks without the bulk, and legnth of the traditional ties.http://www.countrynaturals.co.uk/aca...nd_Gloves.html
