Brilliant dinner. A local girl here is a finalist on Hell's Kitchen. We are all wishing her well.

Fair play to you, I'd love to say I'd been in one of his resturants, but what a horrid man, if you were one of his staff you'd have punched him one or two times by now. But then again the world needs people like him, just so it makes us good men look better to our women

I used to work for a guy who was very much like he is portrayed!
I have never met the guy, but I would bet he is very different in person as opposed to on the TV. They have to make him look like a real so and so. Nobody would watch it if he were a real darlin. Even on his show, I have seen him be quite nice!
He is not pretentious, and just expects people to do what they are capable of doing. They make it seem as though he really does care!

Okey...where to start?
Uhmm...the cheese trolley: A wealth of beautiful cheeses...30? 40? a lot anyway. We both asked about several cheeses and picked 5 different cheeses. Michelle picked a cheese named "Stinky Bishop"
my wife and I did something very close to this a few years ago. For my birthday she kidnapped me and...
Way cool!
About Gordon Ramsay:
I understand people think he's rude and unpleasant...and maybe he is!
But...I think his passion and ambition to produce perfection are remarkable. His behavior is understandable and imho acceptable...I've been a chef (and a soldier) myself...running a kitchen is like a military operation...failure is a disaster and basicly...no option. (failure=unhappy customer).
When you run a 3 star restaurant...anything but perfection is a disaster!
Customers pay big bucks (very big bucks ) to have a great culinary experience...they must deliver. Working in a kitchen...any kitchen...is a tough job. Working in such a kitchen is an honour, when you can't handle it...don't even go there. All who work in such restaurants are heroes in my opinion...including bad mouthing Gordon.

I can totally understand that being a resturantuer would be a very high pressure job and commands loyality, discipline from his staff and an eye for perfection from himself.
But on the camera he seems like a git, his cursing and all would have lesser strong minded staff shaking at the knees.

Robin basically sliced and diced it! Sorry couldn't resist.
Really, having watched him quite frequently, he never seemed to be that much out of line. I have heard and seen worse, from head chefs who aren't fit to shine his shoes.
Working in a kitchen, at that level, is both an art and a labor of love. It dominates your life, well, it is your life really.
He calls em like he sees em, you gotta respect that. There is no time in that situation to be all cuddly and nicey nice. He has saved several fannies from the flames. I respect him! Still, there is entertainment fluff going on!

What a fantastic experience!
A meal, or perhaps I should say an event, that you ad Michelle will long remember!
Cheers
