Funnily enough I was on the Waverley yesterday (Sunday), it was a dreadful day compared to Saturday. We were supposed to call at Ardrisaig in Loch Fyne but the weather did not allow this and we called at Largs and Rothesay and Loch Long instead.
The weather at Rothesay at 6pm last night was so bad that we did not get off the boat.
Sitting next to us on the Waverley were a couple with their 15 year old son who is a piper in his local pipe band and he played at Rothesay on Saturday, they told me it was a great day with the weather being quite good.
If I had'nt booked the Waverley for Sunday, I would have went to the games at Bute instead, the piper told me that there were about 20 bands playing there.
So next year Rothesay will be in the calendar but Cowal is this week and I'll be there on Saturday, its always spectacular whatever the weather and they have some great acts performing this year like Skerryvore and the Red Hot Chilli Pipers, should be a great day
