Raising a glass for Teddy

I'm amazed how often I get my news from this board first thing in the morning. An expected passing, but still a sad one. Guessing he had a huge welcoming committee on the other side.

He loved his country and served it for four and a half decades in the Senate. I'll offer a prayer for his passing and reflect on his service.



I'd also like to say that the grace shown by the posts below is one of the reasons I find this forum to be a worthwhile place:

Even though I often disagreed with his politics, I recognize and respect him as one who gave a lifetime of service to the country. May his family find peace in this sad time.

While I strongly disagreed with him on many issues, as John Donne said, "any man's death diminishes me." The impact on American history this morning is much on my mind.

History will judge Mr. Kennedy when men have recovered their reason and that judgement will transcend the moment of their emotional outpourings.
