He has written a book on building his Acorn Dinghy (my personal favourite design, one day...). Some of his plans are availiable through Woodenboat magazine.

Oh, the Acorn dinghy is seriously pretty. I'd love one!

Another place to find great plans and kits is http://www.swallowboats.co.uk/. Although I really love the lines that Ian Oughtred draws, simply beautiful. But Swallow Boats is worth a look, lovely lines as well.

The closest boats I've built to the ones shown above are these Sailing Peapods or Beach Peas. They were designed by Doug Hylan of Brooklin, ME.

Come in 3 designed lengths, 7'6", 10'2" and 13'. Wonder if the small one could work as a tender to your sail boat?

Just because you are paranoid doesn't mean they aren't out to get you.

Me too, Robert. But oh, the mainenance! It's so much easier to just sharpen up the bright work on a fiberglass boat and go sailing.

Yeah, wooden boats are beautiful and have a unique feel under sail, but when the time comes that I actually make a boat for myself (no, I don't yet own my own) it's going to be a fiberglass hull. I'm almost ashamed to admit it because I've built some wooden boats that make me absolutely swoon. But I would rather have a low maintainance fun boat than a constant work project that gets the oohs and aahs.
