I get this as well now, on the rare occasions I wear trousers or shorts people always ask where's the kilt today.

I found that it doesn't take long for ones kilt wearing to get imprinted into the though patterns of the people you know! In a very short time they automatically associate you with a kilt on. It must be Pavlonian training!

I've kept my head buzzed for quite a few years and usually grow it for 6 to 8 weeks before I ask my wife to give me a shearing. But every so often, for whatever reason, the haircut gets put off and people start to say, "Man, your hair is getting long..." Or ask, "Are you growing your hair out?" Mind you we're talking 1 inch long hair...

Many people tend to react (some nervously) to little changes in their environment. And many are uncomfortable with change, so just when they've gotten "used to" seeing someone in a kilt that person wears pants and throws them in to a state of discombobulation.

I have to admit I get a wee bit of pleasure out of a little harmless discombobulating. Keeps things interesting.

Ron, I can't believe you didn't pack one kilt. Maybe a utility kilt in the back of your closet or something that doesn't collect fur or isn't tricky to wash. Maybe next time you throw a bag together you need one of these...

If a new member may put her oar in... My attitude for most of my 65 has been, "why would I care what others think?" It isn't that I am, or feel superior. I simply do not worry or care about other folks opinions of me, how I dress, what I believe. It's more than a matter of dress, it's a matter of being able to live within one's skin. After all, at the end, you are who will be there. Cordially, Nehmah
