I have been playing around with this beautiful tartan fabric that Richard lent me. I think I have come up with a better way of wearing it.
As my doublet for my Macbeth costume should be arriving this week I will get some photos up and I will let you all decide if I can pull off wearing the "great kilt"
Cheers

Jamie, you wear the greatkilt very well. Must be the regal bearing... either that or the complete lack of concern for looking silly. :P

With a little practice, he'll have the look down.
During the winter months, when the fog is heavy, I wear a great kilt instead of my tank on my morning walks. I get the warmth and protection from the fog without having to wear a jacket. I pin the plaid at my throat to form a cape with hood that can be pulled over my head when needed.

Nothing looks quite like a great kilt. Jamie is wearing that one in a quite casual manner, and it is certainly one that we see in the old illustrations. http://www.kilts-n-stuff.com/Celtic_...reat_kilt.html
There's also a pretty interesting youtube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-jE__DYSM6U from the Gaelic College, whatever that is. (I always take everything I read or hear with a grain of salt, and I make no claims as to the acurracy of lack of same.)
I must say that Jamie looks a bit over . . ., uh, under-dressed with all that stuff on his bottom, though.
And for a bit of off-tpic humor, look at this ad: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zJVFJ...eature=related
I'm no great fan of Utilikilts, but that's a great ad!
