I think that Rex's Heatherfield is fantastic!

I've designed a tartan for Stanford University, but haven't pursued it further as getting it accepted by the University as an actual symbol of the institution is a massive amount of work. It's kind of pointless unless someone wears it.
Rex, that Heatherfield is great, really nice.

I designed a tartan for the City of New Bern's 300th anniversary next year.

The red, yellow and black are from the city's arms (and the arms of Berne, Switzerland, after which it was named) and the blue and white from the saltire to signify the impact that Scots had on the early settlement.
Here's the registration details: http://www.tartanregister.gov.uk/tar...aspx?ref=10034

It puts me in mind of bluestone, but then again, I was primed for that, just having read a story about a house built around a bluestone boulder.
Regards,
Rex.

Some of you may remember about three years ago when I posted a picture of possible the world's ugliest Tartan. That Tartan was woven and registered with the STA as "City of Victoria".
Well, I was showing the swatch around at this last years Victoria Highland Games and someone dared me to design a new, better looking Tartan for my adopted city.
So I did.

The Victoria, City of Gardens Tartan
Designed by Steve Ashton of Freedom Kilts.
The six colors used for this Tartan are those found on the Totem Poles of the First Peoples of our Province. They are then arranged with the Blue to represent the ocean that surrounds us. The Green to represent our forests and parks. The Black to represent the roads that connect us. The Red to represent the bricks of our heritage buildings. The White and Yellow are to represent the "Splashes of Color" from our City's hanging baskets.
This Tartan was registered with the Scottish Tartans Authority on the 6th of August 2009 as ITI #7992
And here is the Tartan made up into a kilt.

This image isn't the best quality but I have the thread count and all.
I haven't thought of a name for it, would anyone like to suggest one?

For some reason it reminds me a lot of WWII, something like Omaha Beach or maybe Normandy Hedge. ith:
