Is that the Spey by any chance, Jock. It looks a bit like the Gordon Castle water I fished in the past. I hope you do manage to get back on the water next year. Nothing like it for forgetting the cares of the world for a few hours. I will be back on the Tweed in a couple of weeks time and hoping for a few fish.

Sorry Phil, the river runs West, not East!I hope you have a good time on the Tweed.

It looks more like the Spean to me, Phil. Somewhere near Highbridge, is my guess, but what do I know?
Jock, I am not an angler in any way, shape or form*, but I do not have to be to admire your photos.
* A shame really, as I have fishing rights on my wee 'estate' a few miles further upstream (if that is the Spean).
Take care,
Ham.

Not the Spean, Hamish, that is one rocky, narrow, and dangerous river and one thing is for sure; if I could ever get down the gorge to fish I would never get out! Even if I was fit, I am 40 years too old to go fishing there!

Ooh.. I do love these "Guess the spot?" games. I must presume then that it is the Lochy although I have never fished it (or even seen it). It does look very like the Spey however. And thanks for your good wishes for the Tweed, Jock. Hopefully there will be lots of fish about, unlike last year.

Great pictures, we have some really good salmon fishing here in Oregon as well. I will try to get some pics of our hot spots and post them.

Please, don't go to all that trouble with the pictures, just give me some numbers and I'll take it from there.
Wish list:
1-Fish the John Day for smallmouths some summer.
2-Fish salmon in Scotland, and Iceland
3-Fish northern pike in Scotland
Doesn't have to be in that order.

Jock
Great photos but even better to see that you were able to get out to take them. Thanks for these.

What a glorious way to spend a day, knee deep in a salmon stream. Thanks for sharing the photos with us.
