Kits for fat guys!

I heartily recommend Stillwater kilts. I'm also a large guy and refuse to spend a fortune on a handsewn kilt until I have a waist again. Stillwater sells 8 yard "Heavyweight" wool kilts for about $130 and 8 yard "Standard" kilts for about $80. Probably one of the best values for the money you can get. They come in standard waist sizes with a 24" length. That means for me that I wear it about 2-3 inches above my navel which feels a bit strange at first, but is lower than military kilts. I find that it is actually more flattering for those of us who have bellies - disguises it a bit.

Without having read the rest of the thread, what McFarcus says is also my opinion. I'm a 290 lb man mountain, myself, and I love the SWK size 52's. I'm actually a 54, and they fit me fine. I have 2 heavies and 2 standards. Spend the extra cash on the heavies- you will regret it all winter if you dont'!

Oh!! Oh!! I just noticed you're another Coloradoan!! It's so beautiful today! All cold and snowy! I'm wearing one of my Stillwater heavies and a pair of Lewis Rich kilt hose right now, and am out the door for a walk as soon as I finish eating my lunch. The heavyweights are great for days like today! They're nice and warm.

I will agree with the others on SWK kilts - I have three - and for the
larger waist they are great - whilst we try to slim down.

I'm changing for my martial arts class... Man, I wish my instructors would let me wear my kilt! It's cold out there!! I'm going to freeze me bits and pieces off...
