Argh! I was so concerned with going kilted to my first public event, I failed to notice the RSVP required for the event, and it is closed. I'm SO disappointed! I was all psyched-up and ready to go too.

Scottish Rite has an event on the 28th though, so I'll have to try to get in to that.

That's a shame VPS It was a grand event. Much larger than I was expecting. At my table were several Daughters, and they said that over 400 people were in attendance. Lots of great music from the North Texas Caledonia Pipes & Drums (please correct me if I recall wrongly), and some lovely lassies showing off their dances. I believe CajunCelt is a member of the band that played? Fine evening altogether. I even tried haggis. It was better than I thought it was going to be ;)

I had haggis at quite a few different places while in Scotland and it was excellent every time. I don't know how good it is here, but it's great in Scotland.

One of the Daughters at my table said that another of their sorority had actually made the haggis, so it wasn't imported/canned. So I can attest that she makes pretty good haggis... but as for anything else in the states, I'm as ignorant as you I've heard um... Caledonia Kitchen? makes a decent canned bit that you can get here, but I'm not all that sure I want to try it ;)
