It seems this video is no longer available as it might have been there for only a limited time! At least, that is what I am being told.

Maybe I should invest in the DVD - I had it on VHS tape but never replaced it when I went over to DVDs.

    Take care,
    Ham.

I love the Liam Neilson "Rob Roy" film. The dialogue is brilliant with many one-liners and retorts !

Like the confrontation in the inn between the swordsman Guthrie and Rob. Part of it it went something like:-

Guthrie “You killed Tam Sibbald !”

Rob Roy “Were you and Tam kin ?”

    Guthrie “Near enough – I sh***ed his sister !”

Plus, Karen Matheson of Capercaillie was in it !

Don’t forget apart from Liam, you had John Hurt as the rather devious Marquis of Montrose, Andrew Keir as the stern Duke of Argyll, the excellent Tim Roth as the dastardly Archie Cunningham, Brian Cox as Montrose’s slimy factor Kenmore and Jessica Lange gamely trying a Highland accent as Rob’s wife Mary.

Rob and Mary certainly found Rob’s great kilt ideal for a quick bit of fun and frolics among the ferns.

I think that’s Liam’s second role as a Scotsman. He was in a film called “The Big Man” about a bare-knuckle fighter and his trials and tribulations. I think it was set around Stirling, but could have been anywhere in the Central Lowlands, even Glasgow. The film was noticeable for the rather odd casting of “posh” English actress Joanne Whalley as his very working-class Scottish wife. She was about as convincing as Mike Tyson in a reverend’s dog collar. Also, her attempt at a Scottish accent was totally stereotypical English attempt at a Scottish accent (a Russ Abbott see you jimmy accent) and was totally mingin’ !
