Use any Peanut Butter Cookie recipe, but replace the peanut butter with almond butter. You might want to add a little more sugar, too, since there's no sugar added to almond butter. Bake as recipe directs, and don't log in to XMTS while you're baking them, unless you want them to turn out a little beyond "crisp".

Amen, Brother!! My preference is the "Plain (AKA dark) Chocolate"! FYI, Whole Foods carries them; as does World Market...

Steve's Great Aunt Margie's Icebox Cookies........I keep a roll of the dough in the freezer, and slice and bake when we pull out the tea pot.

Fresh baked white scones with home-made strawberry or raspberry jam and Cornish clotted cream ! aka afternoon cream tea.
Also, fondant fancies and cucumber sandwiches (with the white bread's crusts cut off).
Alternatively, a big mug of steaming brew and a Scotch mince pie, watching the game (if there's no Bovril) ! Barry-gadgy !!

In the afternoon, at this time of year at about 1600 hrs, hot crumpets with lashings of real butter and a good dollop of raspberry jam, sat in front of the fire.
