I've heard from my mother and younger brother and they are ok, severe damage in their house and apartment, no news yet from my youngest brother though.
He was vacationing near Constitucion, one of the towns wiped by the tsunami. Still networking like crazy with anyone from the area.
I hope you hear from your brother.
I'm gonna see if I can start a donation at school or atleast participate in one. I'd really like to be there myself but 1. can't afford tickets 2. no flights available.

Hello my friends,
I thank with all my heart to every one who cared about what happened in my country. I lived only a strong earthquake, 5.5°, in my city, it is coastal there was no major damage, just some buildings with broken glass and the fear of causing any waves that reach the people.
unfortunately it is very painful to me, see the pictures an videos of the rest of my Chilean brothers, suffer the indescribable. I pray that this will end once and for all, since there are still strong aftershocks.
from the bottom of my heart, thank all of you

It is so nice to have some good news from your sad and battered country, I am delighted to hear from you.

I am hearing that the city of Concepción moved TEN FEET to the West because of the earthquake. I thought it was incorrect so I checked and multiple sites report the same. Unimaginable!

And another earthquake and tsunami alert today .... those poor people. I live in an earthquake zone -- luckily so far in recent history we have not been hit with anything other than tremors of 5 or less.

More earthquakes again today. The little boy that we sponsor is near Valaparaiso, so we're praying hard. Even if they sustain little damage, it has to be so very frightening for them. It makes me want to go gather him up and bring him here (probably just in time for the "big one" we are supposed to have, perish the thought).
