I noticed some time ago - can't say when it impinged on the consciousness, the little shield bosses next to our names are back - they came and went several seasons ago, but it seems the root was not dug out and the are back.
They do have some purpose, somewhere, as I recall.
They do not seem to do any harm, just sit there. I think their original use is to change colour when people somehow prod them into working - but such things are a mystery to me.
Panache might know, I think he was involved in making them vanish the first time.

PS I just left and came back and I was still logged in, after arriving the first time and not being.
PPS My shield boss just turned from blue/grey to green!!
Should I be glad?

I WAS logged in and my session expired while I was nattering. I simply opened a second window, logged in there and posted. I am on a quest to upgrade my status, so am using any excuse to post. Otherwise, I would not have bothered to point this out. Things will work out. THANKS for the work and the worry.

I think the shield you are referring to indicates whether you are online or not. Green means online. If you place your cursor over the shield, a status message pops up (or at least it does when I do this).

I was logged off once and logged back in, no problem (once I de-kidded the computer, caps lock etc)

Apart from thinking I had accidentally logged out no major problems so far.

When using Google Chrome to access the web, if I try to go to the second (or any other) page of a thread, it will take me there and then automatically sends me back to the first as if it were a new page. When I access via Safari, this does not occur. Also with Chrome, the X-marks icon does not appear on the top of the page; with Safari, it does.

I was logged out this morning as well. I had to go and look at a saved document to remember my password. However, in my case, it might not have been Xmarks software because I was also looged off on another Vbulletin forum which I frequent.
