I was considering the same thing, being a dyed-in-the-wool Texan (pun intended!). But at the Highland Games a couple of weeks ago I saw a young woman in the local pipe band wearing a kilt in this tartan and I didn't particularly care for it. I always thought it looked like a pretty nice tartan, but seeing it on an actual kilt was a little disappointing. Maybe it was just because it was a woman wearing it, but it looked to me a lot like a dancer's tartan or a dress tartan. It has a lot of light blue colors and the overall scheme just came across (to my eye) as too light.
What might be fun is a custom weave Texas Bluebonnet tartan but in weathered colors. For some reason, I'm thinking that the tartan may take on a whole new look with a weathered color scheme instead of the original.

I have/am considering the Indiana Tartan, I just haven't been able to separate with the money. First I want a family tartan, high quality. Then I will reconsider.

I proudly wear the Carolina tartan -- in fact I have it on today, but not this outfit.
More info about the tartan can be found here:

And just a reminder, we still have some heavy weight yardage of this tartan available in stock, if anyone is interested. Click here.

In memory of RetroRed.... he was the proud owner of an Arizona tartan kilt, a four yard box pleated kilt which I was proud to make for him. Here is a photo that he sent me after he received the kilt, which shows off perfectly why the colors in the tartan reflect that state.

davidlpope already posted the front of me, and here's the back of me showing the pleats which Matt so expertly stitched up for me. This kilt is made from the bolt of fabric he's talking about a couple of posts above.

Let me enter another plug for Matt's District Tartans site for quick pointers to state or other district tartan information.
I don't think that I've seen a Missouri tartan!
The tartan register has this to say about Illinois, and Scotweb's tartan finder lists it as restricted.

There is no official Missouri tartan. There was one designed several years ago by a chap in Scotland for someone claiming to be a Missourian which was based on the colours of the Missouri flag, but it has never been brought forth or recognized by the General Assembly. Personally, I think it's a bit boring because it doesn't incorporate the natural beauty of Missouri.

So even though I'm from IL and live in IL the tartan is restricted to only a certain group in IL because it is restricted? Sorry I'm a little confused
