Absolutely beautiful, Jim, congratulations. And a HEARTY CONGRATULATIONS to Ms. Lare for another masterpiece sent out into the world! Enjoy!

BTW - This is cruel and unusual punishment; Kathy is presently working on my IoS tank which should be done in 2-3 weeks!

    Awsome kilt!
You will be so glad you invested in it.
you can use the smaller scraps to pass on to kilt makers or those interested in the tartan. I think it is very cool that she sends the "scraps" Congratulations on years of fun and pride.

Drac, nice looking kilt!!! I just got my MacLean of Duart Hunting Modern from Strathmore Woolens. Nothing like a 16 oz wool tank!! Are you wearing a fly plaid in the pics you sent? I am not sure but I think fly plaids are supposed to be worn over the left shoulder....??? Anyone else, chime in here please, I am learning too!

    Very nice!

When I get scraps I tend to cut some of it in a square and print a clan crest with history on a gloss paper. Then attach the square on the paper, and frame it. Makes a lovely result!

I agree. I think fly plaid on the left shoulder is correct. Though don't quote me for goodness sake.

    To demonstrate...

Here's a pic of Chas at a recent dinner in Dumfries.

Congratulations to your new kilt. It looks really good.
But why do you have to wait until next week to wear it?

I work at a place were a kilt would be a distraction. Weird thing is that if I wore it to the Navy base I would get a bit of harassment but that would die down but for a couple of jerks. At my work, an office environment, riding my bike into work (only 3 miles) still gets a dozen or so comments everyday when I bring it in, a few during the day and another dozen or more when I go to leave. This is just one of those pick your battles. They will never understand so why bother?

    Jim
